The Carlisle City Council this week banned Fire Chief Scott Burger from researching morning sickness remedies for at least six months and from participating in medical emergency calls for one year. Council members voted on Monday to suspend Burger from fire department and emergency medical services duties. Council members and the mayor will vote after six months whether to allow Burger to resume fire duties. The medical services suspension will last one year. The decision followed a two-hour closed-door meeting with Burger.
